Sporadi

Sporadi consists of four islands; the playground, the meditation pavilion, the reading and relaxing area and the theatrino where events and gatherings are organised.

All elements are constructed out of reclaimed material of the local wood industry. The provided material comes in five modules -boxes, sticks and palettes- while all the designed objects and installations need to be easy to construct and safe to use.

The playground consists of forms of imaginary creatures and vivid colors. The meditation pavilion, at the calmest part of the park, is a structure using a repetition of boxes and sticks. The relaxing area is the buffer between the two and the theatrino is a flexible space to host spectacles during the day or night.

Sporadi is a collaboration of Rare Encounters with Atelier Fanum. It was awarded the 3rd prize in a competition organised by the municipality of Lecce and the local wood industry as part of the regeneration of the Santa Rosa Park.
